Largo Police Seek Public’s Help In Fatal Hit-And-Run, Victim Identified

LARGO, Fla. – The Largo Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on September 4th, 2024, just after 9 p.m. near 2650 Roosevelt Blvd.

The victim, James Michael Lescord, 56, was tragically struck by an unknown dark-colored SUV while crossing the road. The vehicle, believed to be a Ford or Mercury SUV, fled the scene.

A second vehicle, a 2007 tan Toyota Highlander, also struck Lescord shortly after the initial impact. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the dark-colored SUV to contact Sgt. Chris Keeler at 727-587-6730.
