Due to a recent rise in auto thefts of certain Hyundai vehicles, Hyundai Motor America has provided the Largo Police Department with a limited number of steering wheel locks to distribute to Hyundai vehicle owners.

LARGO, Fla. – Due to a recent rise in auto thefts of certain Hyundai vehicles, Hyundai Motor America has provided the Largo Police Department with a limited number of steering wheel locks to distribute to Hyundai vehicle owners.

These locks are for owners of a 2021 or older model Hyundai vehicle.

The free steering wheel locks are available at the Largo Police Department, located at 201 Highland Ave N from 8 am to 4 pm, seven days a week.

Anyone who is seeking a free steering wheel lock will have to show proof of ownership, such as vehicle registration.

The Largo Police Department also wants to remind drivers of these tips to help prevent vehicle thefts: lock your car doors, remove all valuables from your vehicle, and beware of your surroundings when you park your car.
