Largo Police Department Enhances Community Engagement and Service Delivery Utilizing SPIDR Tech

LARGO, Fla. – The Largo Police Department becomes the first agency in Florida to use this new communication technology to provide real-time updates on-call response times, report status, and victim services.

SPIDR’s cutting-edge technology will provide the Largo Police Department the ability to provide citizens who call into the Communications Center with fully automated follow-up text and e-mail messages. When the Largo Communications Center is contacted, a predetermined message will be sent acknowledging the call for service and advise of delayed response times. In addition, when reports are assigned to a detective, crime victims will be updated on their case.

Victims will be kept advised of important facts, such as offense-specific information, report numbers, and available victim services. In the interest of public safety, various call types of a sensitive nature requiring an immediate police response will not trigger a notification.

Residents will have the opportunity to submit feedback as well. After the initial response has concluded, callers will receive a short, optional, mobile survey that asks questions about overall satisfaction and the professionalism of the Largo Police Department team member they had contact with. Callers will also have the ability to opt into a more comprehensive survey if they wish.

Survey responses will help the department measure customer satisfaction and determine how to better serve the community.

“The sworn and civilian staff of the Largo Police Department are committed to providing the highest level of customer service to our community. The difficulties of this past year have taught us the importance of finding new ideas to improve our means of communicating and SPIDR’s innovative technology will do just that. We pride ourselves on maintaining the trust and respect of the residents of Largo and the broader population that we serve,” said Largo Chief of Police Jeffrey Undestad. “We are proud to be the first agency in Florida to partner with SPIDR Tech to enhance engagement with our community.”

“The Largo Police Department is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency that has made extraordinary efforts to positively engage their community.

Their reputation for being progressive and innovative is evidenced by the fact that they are the first agency in Florida to adopt this modern customer service technology,” said Rahul Sidhu, CEO of SPIDR Tech.

Founded in 2015, SPIDR Tech is a California based company founded by two police officers who saw an opportunity for law enforcement agencies to match the standard of customer service provided by leading companies in the private sector.
