LARGO, Fla. – A targeted shooting in Largo left a 17-year-old hospitalized and his family traumatized. Swift action by the Largo Police Department, in collaboration with other agencies, resulted in the apprehension of two teenage suspects, unraveling a chain of events that linked the shooting to a prior armed robbery.
On the night of August 7, 2024, a 17-year-old male was shot in the leg during a targeted attack outside his home on New Jersey Street. Largo Police have since arrested two teenagers, Daunte Beckwith, 15, and Ze’tovan Neeley, 14, in connection with the incident.

The victim reported being followed as he walked home. Upon entering his backyard, three masked individuals, including Beckwith, fired multiple shots at him, one of which also struck his grandmother’s trailer. Another family member narrowly escaped injury as the assailants continued firing. The victim was hospitalized in stable condition.
Swiftly identifying Beckwith, Largo Police apprehended him nearby. Further investigation led to the identification and arrest of Neeley, who was found in possession of a firearm stolen in an earlier Clearwater robbery. Both suspects admitted their involvement in the shooting.
Beckwith and Neeley, both juveniles, face charges of Attempted Felony Murder and Shooting Deadly Missiles into an Occupied Dwelling. Neeley also faces an Armed Robbery charge from the Clearwater Police Department.

The Largo Police Department extends its gratitude to the Clearwater Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek the third suspect involved in the shooting.
