PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal structure fire in Largo that claimed the life of a 59-year-old man.
On Sunday at approximately 10:29 p.m., deputies responded to 10422 116th Avenue North in Unincorporated Largo after reports that there was smoke coming from the residence.
When deputies arrived on the scene, Largo Fire Department and Seminole Fire Department were actively fighting the structure fire.

Detectives say the fire department made forced entry through the residence’s front door, where they located 59-year-old Thomas Shook lying on the floor.
Shook was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit and Burglary/Pawn (Arson) Unit are investigating the fire and say the fire does not appear suspicious in nature.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Next of kin has been notified.
