LARGO, Fla. – A tragic incident that unfolded on Christmas Day in Largo has ended with the death of a man who allegedly attempted to kill his wife and then himself.
78-year-old Jonathan McPhee succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at a local hospital.

On December 25th, 2024, Largo Police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Pinecone Way. The caller, McPhee, stated that he had killed his wife and was going to take his own life.
Officers arriving at the scene found McPhee with a self-inflicted stab wound and a female victim suffering from blunt force trauma. Both were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Tragically, the female victim died from her injuries on December 30th, 2024. Charges against McPhee were subsequently upgraded to first-degree murder.
