Update: Pallet Yard Fire In Tampa – One Lane Of US 41 Southbound Reopened

TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews remain on scene at the pallet supply yard fire located at 4801 S 50th Street in Tampa. The fire, which broke out at approximately 3:04 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, is now largely contained, allowing for the partial reopening of US Highway 41.

While crews continue to address remaining hot spots and conduct mop-up operations, one southbound lane of US 41 has been reopened to traffic.

As previously reported, there have been no injuries associated with the fire. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

Motorists in the area are still advised to exercise caution and expect potential traffic delays. Further updates will be provided as they become available.


ORIGINAL REPORT: Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews battled a significant fire at a pallet supply yard located at 4801 South 50th Street in Tampa on Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to the scene after 911 dispatchers received calls at 3:04 p.m. Upon arrival, crews encountered a large, deep-seated fire. They deployed handlines and aerial operations to combat the blaze, successfully bringing it under control in just over an hour.

Crews are currently working to extinguish the remaining hot spots.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The fire has resulted in the closure of all southbound lanes of US Highway 41 south of Madison Avenue/Pendola Point Road. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the area.
