POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Two men are behind bars after a dramatic early morning pursuit in Polk County. The chase began when a sheriff’s deputy spotted a stolen truck and ended with a crash in Winter Haven.
The truck, reported stolen the previous night to Plant City PD, attempted to evade the deputy, running a red light and leading law enforcement on a chase.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Air unit tracked the vehicle, enabling deputies to deploy stop sticks on K-Ville Road. Despite driving on three flat tires, the stolen truck continued until it crashed in Winter Haven.
The two occupants, Jason Thomas Aaron (25) and Randy Thomas (38), were apprehended without incident.

Both face charges including grand theft motor vehicle, grand theft, and trespassing. Aaron, the driver, also faces charges for driving with a suspended license, fleeing to elude, criminal mischief, and traffic violations.
The recovered truck has been returned to its owner.
