The driver of the FedEx truck, 35-year-old Juan Cruz Rivera of Poinciana, was not injured and cooperated with the investigation.
According to the preliminary investigation, the FedEx truck was traveling eastbound on Tom Costine Road, with Bailey’s motorcycle also traveling eastbound behind it at a high rate of speed.
As the truck began to make a left turn into a driveway, Bailey attempted to pass the truck on the left, crossing a double-yellow line, which indicated a no-passing zone.
Bailey’s motorcycle then collided with the rear passenger side of the truck.
