Preliminary findings from the PCSO Traffic Homicide Unit indicate that Mr. Brooks was traveling eastbound on Deeson Road on a red 2007 Suzuki motorcycle. It appears he failed to negotiate a curve west of Kathleen Road, causing his motorcycle to leave the roadway and collide with a utility pole.
Investigators believe Mr. Brooks was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Deeson Road was temporarily closed for approximately three hours while deputies conducted their investigation, which remains ongoing.
