LAKELAND, Fla. – Eddie Guzman, 40, of Lakeland, was arrested Friday night after a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy recognized him as having an active felony warrant.
Just after 9:00 p.m. on January 31st, a deputy on patrol in the area of New Tampa Highway in Lakeland spotted Guzman walking east. The deputy recognized Guzman from a previous encounter and knew he had an outstanding warrant stemming from a recent investigation.

The warrant was for battery on a person over 65 years of age. The deputy arrested Guzman without incident.
During the arrest, Guzman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Polk County Jail and booked on the outstanding warrant, with additional charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
