POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old Lakeland man, Brandon Lauderbaugh, faces charges of felony criminal mischief and culpable negligence after an incident in Mulberry on Tuesday.
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at a business on Bonnie Mine Road around 4 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that a woman had been injured after being hit by her own parked vehicle.

The investigation revealed that the woman was at the location to pick up her boyfriend, who was involved in a verbal argument with Lauderbaugh. As the boyfriend walked away, Lauderbaugh allegedly got into his truck, accelerated towards the woman’s vehicle, and struck it. The impact caused the vehicle to spin, hitting the woman and injuring her.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition, while Lauderbaugh was taken to the Polk County Jail.
