LAKELAND, Fla. – Lakeland Fire Department responded to the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen location on US-98 in Lakeland Thursday after a reported fire.
At around 5:00 AM, Lakeland firefighters were dispatched to a fire call at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen located at 2550 HWY 98 N.
The caller, who was passing by the area, reported seeing flames in the parking lot, possibly from the shrubbery behind the building.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the fire had spread into the building and quickly upgraded the call to a structure fire.
Additional units were dispatched and responded to provide additional resources to the first responding unit. Firefighters were required to force entry into the building and extinguish fire within the walls and attic space.
After bringing the scene under control, Lakeland Fire Department investigators began examining it.
Seven (7) LFD units responded to the call, and no injuries were reported.
