LAKELAND, Fla. – Lakeland Fire Department (LFD) responded to a structure fire on Wednesday at approximately 10:00 p.m. Fire crews arrived on the scene of a fully involved fire at 1601 Josephine Street.
Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire which had broken out in the community’s single-story clubhouse.
After conducting an investigation, Lakeland Fire Department’s Fire Investigator determined the fire originated in the clubhouse kitchen, spreading through the building and into the attic. Investigation results pinpointed the cause as an unattended oven range left switched on.
Responding to the scene included 7 Lakeland Fire Department units, 1 Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) medic unit, and Lakeland Police Department officers. No firefighter injuries were reported.
