LAKELAND, Fla. – On Thursday, March 4, 2021, at approximately 7:00 p.m., officers responded to a traffic crash involving a single vehicle on Sikes Boulevard.
According to reports, a 2004 silver Acura was traveling northbound, approaching the 500 block of Sikes Boulevard, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and continued down an embankment, rolling over before coming to final rest.
The Lakeland Police Department Patrol Unit, Polk County Fire Rescue, and the Lakeland Fire Department all arrived on the scene to provide life-saving measures.
Police say the driver, 19-year-old Madison Ebie, did not survive the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Members of the Lakeland Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
