POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Lake Wales man’s attempt to evade arrest ended with a K-9 encounter and additional charges on Tuesday morning.
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Poe Road in Lake Wales around 7:15 a.m. to locate 60-year-old Terry Gene Storeby, who was wanted by the U.S. Marshals on a felony warrant.
Upon arrival, deputies saw Storeby quickly leave the residence and attempt to hide behind a shed. Deputies ordered him to surrender, but he initially refused to comply.

Deputy Holley and his K-9 partner, Buck, approached the shed and warned Storeby that if he didn’t come out, Buck would be sent in. Faced with the prospect of a K-9 encounter, Storeby surrendered to deputies.
He was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail on the outstanding warrant. Additionally, he was charged with Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic and Drug Paraphernalia.
