LAKE WALES, Fla. – Ernest McKnight, 39, of Lake Wales found himself facing additional charges after an unusual incident at the Lake Wales Police Department.

McKnight was initially arrested on Wednesday for burglary and petit theft. However, while being held in a holding cell, he decided to express his artistic side by scribbling on the cell door and walls, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Unfortunately for him, he didn’t have any traditional art supplies, so he improvised using a rather unconventional medium – his own feces.

The resulting odor alerted a detective, who discovered McKnight’s “masterpiece.”

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Environmental Crimes Unit was called in to investigate, leading to additional charges of criminal mischief and criminal nuisance injurious to health.

McKnight was eventually transferred to the Polk County Jail, where he’ll have plenty of time to reflect on his unique artistic choices.
