HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) today arrested Michael Difabio, 58, a custodian at King High School, for possession of a firearm on school grounds.

An investigation revealed that the firearm belonged to Difabio, who had been employed at the school since January 2023.

“There is no place for weapons on school grounds. Schools should be sanctuaries where students and staff should feel safe and secure,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The first day of school is just around the corner, and our message is loud and clear, we will not tolerate weapons on campus for any reason.”
Difabio has been charged with one count of Possession of a Firearm on School Grounds. He resigned from his position at the time of his arrest.
