PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A subject facing an aggravated kidnapping warrant was taken into custody Thursday following a vehicle pursuit and subsequent crash, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO).

The incident began when PSO deputies attempted to serve the felony warrant. The subject refused to comply and fled the location in a vehicle.

PSO’s Aviation Unit was deployed and successfully tracked the subject’s vehicle from the air. A short time later, the fleeing vehicle crashed into other vehicles near the intersection of Moon Lake Road and Ridge Road.

Deputies were then able to detain the subject at the crash scene. The subject, along with a passenger in their vehicle, sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Authorities confirmed that no other individuals involved in the crash reported injuries.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office emphasized that this was an isolated incident directly related to the warrant service and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
