Key Largo Man Arrested For DUI, Resisting Arrest After Fleeing Traffic Stop

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A Key Largo man is facing charges after leading deputies on a brief foot chase following a traffic stop for reckless driving.

32-year-old Earnest George Nader was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with DUI and resisting arrest.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a motorist driving erratically on U.S. 1 near Mile Marker 91. Deputies responded to the area and observed Nader speeding and aggressively changing lanes without signaling.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop around 5:31 PM. However, shortly after being pulled over, Nader fled from his vehicle on foot. Deputies pursued him and were able to apprehend him a short distance away.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission assisted in the arrest.

Nader was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
