Key Largo Man Arrested After Alleged Road Rage Incident Involving Handgun

KEY LARGO, Fla. – A 58-year-old Key Largo man, Daniel James Williams, was arrested Saturday morning following a reported road rage incident in which he allegedly pointed a handgun at other motorists.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 8:44 a.m. regarding an incident on U.S. 1 near Mile Marker 92.5. The reporting motorist stated that a man driving a GMC truck had pointed a handgun at them.

Deputies quickly located and stopped the suspect vehicle. During questioning, Williams reportedly admitted to pointing his firearm at the victims. Thankfully, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was subsequently taken to the Monroe County jail.
