Kentucky Couple’s Crime Spree In Hernando County Ends In Pasco County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A Kentucky couple’s alleged crime spree, spanning multiple states and involving a string of commercial burglaries, has come to an end in Pasco County.

Brian Beckley, 36, and Shawnee Reed, 33, were arrested on January 2nd, 2025, after Hernando County Sheriff’s Office detectives tracked them to a storage unit facility off U.S. 41 in Pasco County.

The couple is accused of committing three commercial burglaries targeting storage units in Hernando County between December 21st and December 29th, 2024. Stolen items included tools, batteries, and other miscellaneous goods.

Detectives identified Beckley and Reed through surveillance footage captured at the crime scenes. With the assistance of the Florida Highway Patrol, a traffic stop was conducted, and the pair were apprehended shortly after leaving the storage facility in Pasco County.

In addition to the charges in Hernando County, Beckley was also wanted on multiple extraditable warrants for similar crimes in Kentucky.

Both Beckley and Reed are facing charges of burglary and grand theft. They are currently being held without bond in the Pasco County Jail.
