Not long ago, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis added the American Academy of Pediatrics to the list of organizations he wants accountable for wokeism.
This week, a court sided with him.
A federal judge has ordered the American Academy of Pediatrics to explain to the state why it advocates for gender transitions for minors. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols also told the AAP to hand over to the Republican governor any communication with its members about that particular decision-making process.

Last year, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration issued a rule banning taxpayer-funded transitions under Medicaid, the health insurance program for the poor jointly funded by the state and federal governments.
The rule made Florida one of 10 states that ban such procedures under Medicaid.
The AAP subsequently joined a lawsuit to overturn the rule filed by LGBTQ activists.
Consequently, the DeSantis administration subpoenaed the AAP and numerous other groups for information about their policies pertaining to people with gender dysphoria and how those “gender-affirming care” policies were developed, Daily Caller reported.

The AAP apparently resisted, forcing the case before Judge Nichols.
Nichols ordered the AAP on Thursday to turn over to Florida by Feb. 2 “information on its total number of members, documents on how it establishes guidelines and policy positions, any guidelines or policy positions on gender-affirming care for gender dysphoria and how those guidelines or policies were developed.”
The AAP must also provide any official communications it had with its members about such policies and guidelines.
It’s unclear whether the AAP will appeal to avoid being forced to turn over its information.
