TAMPA, Fla. – Democratic Presidental candidate, Joe Biden, announced Kamala Harris as his running mate on Tuesday. Biden committed earlier this year to select a woman as his running mate for the 2020 Presidential bid.
“I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked Kamala Harris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate. Back when Kamala was Attorney General, she worked closely with Beau (Joe Biden’s Son). I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse. I was proud then, and I’m proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign,” said Biden in a statement on social media.
The decision comes more than a year after Harris, who was also a 2020 Democratic candidate, clashed with Biden over racial issues during the first Democratic primary debate.
