JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville man, Peter Alexander Lawrence, 42, was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for lying on a federal firearms application.
Lawrence pleaded guilty on April 23, 2024, to falsely claiming he had no prior convictions involving firearms or domestic violence.
In March 2023, Lawrence attempted to purchase a firearm and filled out an ATF Form 4473, falsely stating he had no criminal history exceeding a year’s imprisonment and no misdemeanor domestic violence convictions.

However, in 2008 he was sentenced to 18 months for firearm offenses, and in 2018, he was convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated the case, and Assistant United States Attorney Brenna Falzetta prosecuted. This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods, an initiative aiming to reduce violent crime and gun violence through community collaboration and strategic law enforcement.
