The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced in a tweet on Monday that due to ongoing threats to the country’s north, Israel will start evacuating civilians who live close to Lebanon.
The IDF announced that residents of 28 towns near Lebanon’s northern border will be among those evacuated to guest houses. Following Hamas’ invasion of Gaza more than a week ago, during which terrorists slaughtered, abducted, and sexually assaulted citizens, threats in northern Israel have escalated.
The IDF and Israel’s defense ministry released a joint statement saying, “The National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) of the Ministry of Defense and the IDF are announcing the implementation of a plan to evacuate residents of northern Israel who live in the area up to 2 kilometers from the Lebanese border to state-funded guesthouses.”

“The implementation of the plan was approved by Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant. A short while ago, the Northern Command updated the heads of the local authorities on to the decision. The plan will be implemented by the heads of the local municipalities, the Ministry of Interior and the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) of the Ministry of Defense,” the statement continued.
On October 9, a number of terrorists entered Israel from Lebanon; the IDF eliminated their danger without delay. In recent days, the IDF has recorded multiple rocket assaults into Israel from Lebanon.
In reaction to strikes coming from Lebanon, the IDF has recently attacked multiple terrorist targets affiliated with Hezbollah.
