Islamorada Man Wanted For Contractor Fraud Arrested During Traffic Stop

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A 45-year-old Islamorada man wanted on multiple charges, including grand theft and contractor fraud, was apprehended by authorities on Wednesday following a routine traffic stop on U.S. 1. John Michael Sogegian was taken into custody near Mile Marker 98 and subsequently transported to jail.

Sogegian was the subject of an active Monroe County warrant stemming from allegations that he defrauded local residents through his window company.

According to reports, Sogegian engaged in a pattern of theft, allegedly taking thousands of dollars from homeowners without completing the contracted work or providing the promised services.

Details regarding the specific number of victims and the total amount of money involved have not yet been released by authorities. However, the charges against Sogegian indicate a significant level of financial exploitation.

The traffic stop that led to Sogegian’s arrest occurred on Wednesday.
