The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for a horrific knife attack in Solingen, Germany, which left three people dead and eight others wounded. The group, via its Amaq news site, stated the attacker targeted Christians and was motivated by a desire to “avenge Muslims in Palestine and everywhere.”
German authorities are actively investigating the attack, with police conducting raids and searches in the city and surrounding areas.

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of having knowledge of the planned attack but not being the perpetrator.
While a motive has not been definitively established, authorities are not ruling out the possibility of terrorism. The victims were two men aged 67 and 56, and a 56-year-old woman, with the attacker seemingly targeting their throats.

The attack has shaken the community, with churches opening their doors for prayer and support. German officials have expressed their commitment to supporting the city and its people, vowing not to let such an act divide society.
The investigation is ongoing, with police urging witnesses to come forward with any information that may help identify and apprehend the attacker.
