Inverness Woman Dies From Crash After Suffering Medical Emergency

A 36-year-old Inverness woman was killed in a crash that happened around 11:44 am on Wednesday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 36-year-old Inverness woman was killed in a crash that happened around 11:44 am on Wednesday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the woman was traveling southbound in an SUV on North Corbin Avenue, south of East Ryan Street. A 2-year-old boy was a passenger in the vehicle.

Investigators say the woman suffered a medical emergency and lost vehicle control.

The vehicle traveled off the roadway and collided with a fence and a tree at 3828 East Ryan Street. 

The woman was transported to an area hospital but later died from injuries from the crash. The 2-year-old Inverness boy suffered only minor injuries.
