SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 32-year-old Inverness man was killed in a crash that happened on Monday at 7:34 am, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
According to troopers, a Chevy SUV driven by the Inverness man was traveling eastbound on County Road 476.
Troopers say just West of Southwest 52nd Street, the SUV traveled into the westbound lane for an unknown reason and collided nearly head-on with a Nissan pickup truck.

The Inverness man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the driver of the Nissan, a 37-year-old Groveland man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
