INVERNESS, Fla. – A husband and wife from Inverness, Florida, have been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with a minor, following an investigation by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
In July 2024, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) initiated an investigation after receiving information that Kendra Rose Metts, 32, and her husband, Jon Joseph Metts, 47, of Inverness, were allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with a juvenile in Citrus County.
Detective Mike Mission of the CCSO Special Victims Unit (SVU) led the investigation, which uncovered evidence supporting the claims against the couple.

The investigation revealed that both Jon and Kendra Metts had engaged in sexual activity with the minor on multiple occasions, both individually and together. As a result, Detective Mission, in coordination with the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, secured arrest warrants for the couple.
“Jon and Kendra Metts are predators in every sense of the word and a serious threat to our community. They knowingly committed illegal and immoral acts, manipulating the juvenile victim for their own sexual gratification,” said Sheriff Prendergast. “Thanks to Detective Mission’s thorough investigation, Citrus County is a safer place, and we remain committed to seeking justice for the victim.”
During the investigation, the couple fled their Citrus County residence. On August 27th, the U.S. Marshals Service located and arrested Kendra Metts in Gadsden, Alabama. She has been charged with six counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors. Kendra is currently held without bond and will be extradited to the Citrus County Detention Facility.
On September 4th, U.S. Marshals apprehended Jon Metts in Summerfield, Florida. He faces three counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity with Certain Minors and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. He will also be held without bond and transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility.
