CLEARWATER, Fla. – What should have been a dream car for a Clearwater couple has proved to be a costly disaster.
In a lawsuit, Heritage Property & Casualty Insurance alleges that a 2018 BMW 430i stalled when it was driven through water two years ago in July.
According to court documents, after concluding the car’s engine was “hydro locked,” Ferman Automotive mechanics replaced the engine with a new one.
One day later, the car was parked inside the insured owner’s garage at his home, when the engine caught fire, setting both the car and Clearwater home on fire.
