Citrus Memorial Hospital today announced it will add two fellowships to its Graduate Medical Education program. Accredited by the Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the new fellowship programs will train fellows in cardiovascular disease and pulmonary disease.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported Tuesday that 3,746 Florida hospital inpatients had COVID-19, up slightly from Monday and an increase of about 8 percent from last week.

Florida during the past two months has seen significant increases in numbers of reported COVID-19 cases amid the spread of subvariants of the coronavirus.

Tuesday’s inpatient total was up from a reported 3,707 on Monday and 3,464 on June 21.

The new data also showed 362 COVID-19 patients were in intensive-care units, up from 338 on Monday.
