Inpatients With COVID-19 In Florida Down Slightly

The number of Florida hospital inpatients with COVID-19 saw little change during the past week.

After hitting 3,500 last week, the number of Florida hospital inpatients with COVID-19 has inched down. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported Tuesday that 3,464 Florida inpatients had COVID-19, while 323 were in intensive-care units.

The state totaled 3,500 patients with COVID-19 on Thursday and 347 in intensive-care units. Florida in recent weeks has seen significant increases in numbers of reported COVID-19 cases amid the spread of subvariants of the coronavirus.

Florida topped 74,000 new cases during the two most-recent weeks of data compiled by the state Department of Health.

By comparison, it had 15,604 reported cases during the week that started April 8 and 20,784 cases the following week.
