A 14-year-old girl was randomly stabbed in the hand while attending her brother’s baseball game in Lowell, Indiana, this weekend. The suspect, Dimas Gabriel Yanez, a 26-year-old Honduran national who was deported in 2018, was apprehended after an extensive manhunt.
Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. stated that Yanez may have been involved in criminal activity across the U.S. since his illegal re-entry and was possibly attempting to alter his appearance before his arrest.
This incident adds to a growing list of high-profile crimes allegedly committed by illegal immigrants, including the murders of Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, and the killing of a Maryland mother of five.
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has been vocal in his opposition to illegal immigration, emphasizing the importance of upholding the law and welcoming only those who intend to contribute positively to American society.
