Vice President Kamala Harris came to Tallahassee on Sunday to celebrate “freedom,” “liberty,” and the demise of 60 million babies killed by abortion.

But her speech to mark the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling on abortion included the unintended hilarity that Harris has become known for since President Joe Biden thrust her into the national spotlight.

On one hand, there was the gaslighting.

In her speech in Florida’s capital, Harris began, “We are here together because we collectively believe and know America is a promise.”

“America is a promise. It is a promise of freedom and liberty — not for some, but for all. A promise we made in the Declaration of Independence that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

As almost all of us know, Thomas Jefferson wrote that we were endowed with the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Obviously, because of the occasion, Harris could not invoke Jefferson’s original wording or the Founders’ original intent.

In the course of her comments, Harris used the word “freedom” 10 times, the word “liberty” seven times, and a phrase combining the two six times.

Yet Harris never used the word “life.”

But while the audience heard about “freedom and liberty,” they actually had to leave it outside The Moon, where Harris spoke.

As the Twitter account DeSantis War Room posted on Sunday, Harris required attendees to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status before entering.

DeSantis War Room, which supports Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, posted on Twitter a copy of the form speech-goers were required to sign before entering.

Those who were unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or unwilling to share their status were required to take a COVID test within 72 hours of the event, mask up while in attendance, and social distance.

All of this was in accordance with White House “health and safety” protocols and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the form stated.

In response to the post, the Florida Republican Party noted, “Did the thousands of migrants who’ve crossed the border illegally have to fill out one of these?”
