In one brief sentence on Friday, President Joe Biden revealed an amazing amount of gaslighting and duplicity, admitting he had no evidence for his comments and then oddly suggesting that he is responsible for the war in the Middle East.
While discussing the release of hostages held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian prisoners jailed by Israel, as well as enjoying another vacation, this one for the Thanksgiving holiday in Massachusetts, Biden admitted:
- He had no proof for what he said
- Took credit for something former President Donald Trump did
- And then indicated his own actions may have launched the war between Hamas and Israel.

In response to a reporter’s question about Arab leaders assisting in the hostage swap, Biden began, “I cannot prove what I’m about to say,” and then said it anyway.
“But I believe one of the reasons why Hamas struck when they did was they knew that I was working very closely with the Saudis and others in the region to bring peace to the region by having recognition of Israel and Israel’s right to exist,” said Biden.
Conservative commentators quickly criticized Biden for apparently taking credit for the Abraham Accords.
The Accords were a series of agreements inked between September 2020 and when Trump left office in January 2021 in which a handful of Arab nations recognized Israel’s right to exist and pledged to normalize diplomatic ties and work more closely with the Jewish state.
Those nations included Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan and Morocco. Trump predicted that as many as five other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, may soon follow.
The agreement between Israel and Bahrain, for instance, specifically credits Trump for the agreement: “The two countries jointly express their profound thanks and appreciation to President Donald J. Trump for his untiring efforts and unique and pragmatic approach to further the cause of peace, justice and prosperity for all the peoples of the region.”
Commenting on X (formerly Twitter) about Biden’s remarks on Friday, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine noted that Biden actually helped unravel the accords by cozying up to the mullahs in Iran.

“The narcissism is breathtaking, as is the admission of incompetence and the sly diversion,” Devine wrote. “The Abraham Accords were Trump’s triumph and his team would not have screwed up. Biden’s antipathy to Trump and petty insistence he receive no credit – even to the point of erasing ‘Abraham’ – set back the project, and the insane resurrection of the Iran deal helped fuel Hamas.”
Biden, in fact, was ripped after Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre of more than 1,200 innocent Jews because his administration unfroze $6 billion in Iranian assets that many believe was shifted to Hamas to fund the attack.
On Saturday, PJ Media columnist Matt Margolis added of Biden’s remarks, “Unfortunately, progress in achieving peace deals between Israel and other Arab nations hasn’t progressed significantly in the nearly three years Joe Biden has been in office. Further, Trump’s successful efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East didn’t prompt Hamas to launch a large scale terrorist attack on Israel.”
“One reason may be that Joe Biden is incompetent when it comes to foreign policy. Another reason is that Trump didn’t appease Iran, the world chief financier of terrorism.”
