All available Publix COVID-19 vaccine appointments in Florida have been claimed, in less than two hours Wednesday.
The Publix appointment portal opened at 6 AM, and with overwhelming demand for the vaccine, demand outweighs the supply.
There is good news for those waiting for the vaccine, Publix will reopen appointments this Friday, Feb. 5th. at 7 AM.
“After listening to customer feedback, we’ve moved back the start time of the next event by one hour. Please check back on Friday, February 5 after 7:00 a.m. EST (6:00 a.m. CST) for your next opportunity,” said Publix in a statement.
Vaccination appointments are scheduled online only. Appointments cannot be made by calling Publix or the Publix Pharmacy.

The state of Florida requires that those receiving their first vaccine dose provide proof of residency meeting certain criteria.
The following Florida residents are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, by appointment only:
- healthcare personnel with direct patient contact
- residents and staff of long-term healthcare facilities, and
- adults aged 65 years and older
A limited number of COVID-19 vaccines are available at select Publix pharmacies in the following Florida counties, while supplies last.
