PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A suspected drunk driver fleeing from a Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputy caused a multi-vehicle crash in Palm Harbor Wednesday night.
The incident began around 8:09 p.m. when Deputy James Bonanno attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Dodge Ram driven by 33-year-old David Lominack Jr. for suspicion of DUI. Lominack failed to stop and continued driving north on US 19.

As Lominack approached stopped traffic at Nebraska Avenue, he slammed on his brakes, causing Deputy Bonanno’s patrol vehicle to rear-end the Ram. This triggered a chain reaction, resulting in three other vehicles being struck.
Lominack then fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle a short distance away. He was apprehended by deputies with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Flight Unit.
