Illinois Woman Dies After Falling From Golf Cart In The Villages; Driver Arrested for DUI Manslaughter

A 60-year-old woman from Norridge, Illinois, died early Sunday morning after falling from a golf cart in The Villages. The driver, a 58-year-old man from The Villages, has been arrested for DUI manslaughter.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 12:49 a.m. on March 9, 2025. Richard Allen Keil was operating a golf cart northbound on San Marino Drive when he approached the intersection of Santa Clara Circle.

Keil swerved to avoid a parked vehicle, and during the evasive maneuver, the female passenger fell out of the golf cart, sustaining serious injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

Following an investigation, FHP troopers determined that Keil was impaired and subsequently arrested him for DUI manslaughter.
