Here’s another dose of Democratic logic: allow those who broke the law to become the ones who enforce the laws. Illinois Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker is close to signing a bill allowing illegal immigrants who remain in the country under an Obama-era program to work as law enforcement officers, according to Breitbart News report on Sunday.
It’s unclear how the bill would work in one sense: federal law bans illegal immigrants from becoming cops, according to The Center Square.
Still, Democrats broadly support the bill, which passed the left-wing Illinois legislature in June. If enacted, it would allow people enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program to work as police officers or sheriff’s deputies.

Roughly 800,000 people are in the DACA system, including those brought to America illegally as children.
Illinois state Sen. Mary Edly-Allen, the bill’s sponsor, argued that illegals already work in public-service jobs. s hold similar positions.
“We currently have many DACA recipients serving in the capacity in our classrooms, as healthcare workers, and even serving in our military,” said Edly-Allen, according to Center Square.
“I think this would be a natural progression to allow these same people that serve in this capacity to serve our communities.”
But state Sen. Chapin Rose, a Republican, questioned the sanity of letting noncitizens arrest a U.S. citizen in Illinois.

“To hand the power to arrest and detain a citizen of this state, or a citizen of any state in the United States, to a noncitizen is a fundamental breach of democracy,” Rose said, according to Center Square. “It is antithetical to the police power of any state.”
Breitbart News noted that the bill will likely become law no matter what Pritzker does. The Democrats hold supermajorities in both halves of the legislature, meaning they could override a veto.
