ORLANDO, Fla. – U.S. District Judge John Antoon II has sentenced Dainton Drummond, 62, of Orlando, to 15 months in federal prison for possession of a firearm by an illegal alien.

This sentence will run consecutively with a previous sentence imposed by the Superior Court of Arizona. Drummond was also ordered to forfeit the firearm seized during his arrest. He had pleaded guilty on April 30, 2024.

According to court documents, on September 17, 2023, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of Drummond, who was using the alias “Anselmo Lionel Jackson,” driving under the influence (DUI) near South Hiawassee Road and Hunterdon Drive in Orlando.

After his arrest, deputies found a loaded Hi-Point 9mm River Pistol in his vehicle. Further investigation revealed Drummond, a multi-convicted felon and Jamaican citizen, had illegally re-entered the United States and was living in Orlando under a false identity.

The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Sartoian prosecuted the case.
