Illegal Alien Arrested On Drug Charges In Sarasota; Immigration Hold Placed

SARASOTA, Fla. – A 29-year-old illegal alien was arrested on Tuesday, February 4th, in Sarasota for possession of cocaine. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) also revealed that the suspect is facing deportation proceedings.

Jose C. Arellano Alverado was arrested at his residence on McIntosh Road after a narcotics investigation by the SCSO Special Investigations Section. A search warrant was executed with the assistance of the SWAT team, and detectives found several grams of cocaine at the residence.

The SCSO contacted Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), which confirmed his status and placed an immigration hold on him with the intention of initiating deportation proceedings.
