Federal immigration authorities conducted a large-scale operation targeting the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang in Aurora, Colorado, resulting in over 100 arrests.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents executed a pre-dawn raid at the Whispering Pines Apartments, a known TdA stronghold, as part of a broader crackdown on the gang’s activities in the United States.

Armed with a warrant, ICE agents went door to door, detaining individuals connected to the gang. The operation followed days of surveillance by ICE, which had been tracking a high-ranking member of the South American gang known to be involved in cocaine distribution.
While ICE has not confirmed the specific identity of the targeted individual, they have stated that this operation is part of a larger effort to dismantle the TdA’s operations in the U.S.
In addition to the raid at the Whispering Pines Apartments, ICE conducted enforcement actions at multiple locations in the Denver metro area.

The Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan criminal organization, has rapidly expanded its presence across the United States. Its members have been linked to various violent crimes, including assault, human trafficking, and drug distribution.
The gang has reportedly exploited apartment complexes like Whispering Pines to establish hubs for its criminal activities, including drug trafficking and prostitution. They have allegedly extorted legal residents and forced migrants to pay rent for illegally occupied units.
The Aurora raids are part of a larger effort under the current administration to dismantle transnational criminal organizations operating within the U.S. Law enforcement agencies have been actively targeting TdA locations following reports of the gang’s involvement in a wave of violent crimes across multiple states.

ICE and its partners are committed to dismantling gang-controlled areas and bringing those responsible for criminal activity to justice.
Further arrests and enforcement actions are expected as authorities continue their pursuit of TdA members throughout the country.
