U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba, a 38-year-old Colombian citizen, outside his residence in Pennsylvania on March 14th.

Henao-Cordoba, living in State College, is wanted by Panamanian authorities for the aggravated rape of a child.

“The arrest of Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba demonstrates ICE’s dedication to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities — our children,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane. “ICE remains steadfast in its mission to apprehend individuals accused of such heinous crimes, ensuring they are held accountable and that our neighborhoods remain safe for all.”

Authorities in Panama issued an arrest warrant for Henao-Cordoba on September 2, 2020, for the aggravated rape of a minor.

Henao-Cordoba initially entered the United States illegally near Eagle Pass, Texas, on May 26, 2022. He was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol and subsequently transferred to ICE. ICE enrolled him in the alternatives to detention program and paroled him into the U.S.

On August 23, 2022, Henao-Cordoba reported to ICE in York, Pennsylvania, and was issued a notice to appear charging inadmissibility. He was then terminated from the alternatives to detention program due to his residence falling outside the program’s designated area.
