HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A major traffic disruption affected Interstate 275 in the Tampa Bay area due to a serious crash involving a tractor-trailer.

The incident occurred at Milepost 54 on I-275, where a tractor-trailer struck the Livingston Avenue overpass. Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate were closed as authorities assessed the structural integrity of the overpass.

All lanes have since been reopened.

Northbound traffic was being diverted at Bearss Avenue, while southbound traffic was being diverted at the I-75 split. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

“Both directions of I-275 are now open following inspection,” said Florida Highway Patrol in a statement.
