TAMPA, Fla. – A portion of Interstate 275 will be closed tonight for essential construction work.
The southbound I-275 ramp to Downtown East-West (Exit 45A) will be inaccessible from 10 PM on Tuesday, November 12th, to 5 AM on Wednesday, November 13th, weather permitting.
Drivers should plan accordingly and use the designated detour:
- Exit at Exit 45B
- Turn right onto Floribraska Avenue
- Turn left onto Tampa Street
- Continue south to access Scott Street, Laurel Street, or Cass Street

Electronic message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the detour. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists to exercise caution while navigating the work zone.
This temporary closure is part of the ongoing Downtown Tampa Interchange (I-275/I-4) Safety and Operational Improvements project, expected to be completed in 2027. For more information on this project and to sign up for traffic alerts, visit FDOTTampaBay.com.
