HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) has been working tirelessly in the wake of Hurricane Milton, conducting over 500 rescues, including 104 pet rescues.

In a remarkable effort, HCFR tactical operators rescued approximately 135 civilians from an assisted living facility in the University area.

Rescue operations are ongoing and the number of rescued is expected to rise. HCFR is committed to keeping the community informed as the situation develops.
