The financial impact of Hurricane Helene continues to rise, with estimated insured losses in Florida reaching $1.3 billion as of Wednesday. This figure, reported by the state Office of Insurance Regulation, reflects a steady increase since the hurricane made landfall on September 26th in Taylor County.
Over 120,000 insurance claims have been filed, with a majority related to residential property and vehicle damage. While some claims have been processed and paid out, tens of thousands remain unresolved.

It’s important to note that these figures only account for insured losses and do not include claims filed under the National Flood Insurance Program, suggesting the total financial impact of the hurricane will be even greater.
