Human remains were found in a vehicle that had been destroyed by fire and investigators need the public’s help in this case.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to the 2000 block of NE 231st Ave, Silver Springs, regarding a suspicious vehicle.
When deputies arrived, they located an abandoned vehicle that had been destroyed by fire. Upon further inspection, deputies discovered human remains inside the vehicle.

MCSO Major Crimes detectives responded and began their investigation. Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle fire started on Friday, October 7, 2022.
